Turn off your power strip, save $$$

Turn off your power strips when they are not in use. As of 1997 figures, the average American household continuously leaks about 50 watts of electricity.  Eliminating that would save at least $1 billion a year in wasted electricity.

One easy method to detect and examine the amount of electricity your devices use is the Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor.  I am currently performing an audit on some of my household appliances and I must say I’m a bit suprised by some of the results.  Upon completion I will post the results for you, but I would love to hear about some of your results now in the comments section.
